With my relapse, my symptoms were similar to my diagnosis symptoms: weakness, fatigue, low immune system, some bone pains. I am starting treatment next month. I believe it will be a Kyprolis-based regimen.

God bless you Ken. Such a lovely hopeful message. Much love,

After being diagnosed in July 2000, I wore a chemo pump for a few months, but it'd didn't plateau my multiple myeloma as my specialist hoped.

In 2001 I began apheresis and 1.5 million stem cells were collected. In February 2003, I underwent a stem cell transplant and that gave me 5 years of steady figures.

But in late 2008 the beast began coming back. In January 2009 my specialist managed to persuade Celgene to give me Revlimid on compassionate grounds. Just over 4 years later, I'm still on Revlimid and dexamethasone. So, after 13 years, I'm living a pretty good life (at 75) being on two committees, one where we live in an Over 50s Resort, and the other our local Probus Club.

I can't wish for much more than that. I've had a marvelous run and hope to continue in that way :-)
