I read the post "Scientists engineer nanoparticles for bone cancer" in regards to new findings in bone cancer research. I read the story and noticed that it referred to multiple myeloma as a "bone cancer", but have always been told I have a blood cancer.
Could someone clarify? Thanks in advance!

It's a blood cancer. A lot of folks make this mistake since the disease can be found in the bones and can also cause bone damage. But fundamentally, it's your blood plasma cells that have gone haywire.

It's a cancer of a cell type of the immune system, with which a major site of pathology is in the bone (lyric lesions) and bone marrow. It is not, however, a cancer of bone cells.
