My Dad...
My dad, 63, diagnosed in October 2012, given 6 months, only here for 6 weeks...passed less than 2 weeks ago. Although you were not a candidate for chemotherapy we were hopeful for the steroids...but the cancer was too strong, too aggressive, too advanced. We knew it was not you that stopped speaking and eating...it was the cancer. You were a fighter and will always be remembered that way. We love you always and miss you so much!
Re: My Dad...
I am so sorry for your loss. I know the pain you feel. My father passed away on 5/3/12 from multiple myeloma. He was diagnosed in July of 2008 after two years of insisting to his doctor that he believd he had cancer and the doctor ignoring hi and telling him he had arthritis. It is a very painful experience. My father was at my house and fine at my son's 1st birthday on 3/17/12 and then in the hospital unabl to speak for 5 days as of 4/12/12. When he could speak he was telling us stories of people trying to kill him in the hospital. He was never the same. We brought him home with 24/hour a day private help wiith the hospital telling us he had 2-3 weeks. He only made it 9 days at home and the last 2 or 3 days he was never awake. I spent almost 4 years taking my father to MD Anderson, helping him get all his many pills straight, etc....it was absolutely heartbreaking to watch him go downhill so fast. I was sure after 4 years and all the MANY treatments that he went through that he would be here a few more years to get to know my son who he absolutely adored, and who adored him! The only thing that helps me get through the day is the thought that my father is no longer in any pain. He was very peaceful when he passed. Please know that when you feel alone that there are others out there who feel your pain. Smile and remember all the good times with your father....I am sure that is what he would want. Take care!

Re: My Dad...
I am sorry to hear about both of your losses of your fathers. It must have been a comfort to them to have their adult children near them while they were struggling with Multiple Myeloma.
