I started treatment Tuesday and have a Velcade injection this afternoon. I am on Revlimid and dexamethasone as well. I had a Zometa IV Tuesday as well.
While I have had bad back pain and some shoulder pain for some time, today I have no strength in my thighs, making it difficult to get up from a recliner to a walker to visit the restroom despite my wife's help. I was able to crawl up to the platform, but I wanted to know if this is common as a result of the drugs attacking bone lesions and what to expect next.

I am on the same regimen of drugs. It took me a couple of treatments before the side effects kicked in. The swelling in legs and feet make it hard to get around. I have no energy and walk very wobbly as I feel disorientated.
My other side effects are difficult breathing, weight gain due to steroids, stomach problems, and having trouble reading small print. I am trying my best to live with the side effects, breathing and no energy are to worse.

Hi Wes and welcome to the forum.
When I read your post I became concerned that something else may be going on to cause weakness to the degree of needing to crawl.
Hopefully you are under the care of a myeloma specialist who should be made aware of this severe weakness right away.

Hi,
I was on that regimen for induction therapy for my stem cell transplant (SCT). I did not notice any big changes, but each person responds differently to drugs – it really is very idiosyncratic. What I did suffer was mild fatigue, so I just kept pushing myself when I could.
It is also dependent on the drug dosage, because each person is different. I doubt the dosages of the trio of drugs you are taking would be the same as the amounts I was on.
See your specialist IMMEDIATELY – doses can be modified depending on the severity of symptoms you are experiencing. And your symptoms seem severe.
I carry a small notebook with me, and every time I think of a question to ask the specialist I write it down for my next visit. I write down all sorts of stuff - no question is too silly. When I get to my appointment I look at my notebook, and I think "Oh, I would have forgotten to ask that!"

How much dexamethasone are you taking? Usually dexamethasone really can hurt and weaken your muscles. I was on for 2 months having 40 mg for 3 days after the day of application of Velcade (40 mg 4 times a week ) and I really felt that. It started slow in the first week and then it got worse, but nothing I could bear until the end of 2 months. Now it's 2 weeks after this 2 months cycle ended, only having dex once a week, and I feel normal again.

Discuss the side effects with your doctor. Some of them are transient. However, if they ramp up or persist, you may have to adjust you treatment. Assuming that these are transient issues, then the first thing is to get your multiple myeloma under control with the treatment. As the numbers come in line, at an appropriate time, I would recommend starting physical therapy. Many posters here in the forum have reported that PT has helped.
