HI,
My father has been newly diagnosed with multiple myeloma. He lives in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
Anyone here have any suggestions for multiple myeloma specialists in the Toronto area?
Thanks

Re: Multiple myeloma specialists - Greater Toronto Area
Welcome to the forum.
I believe the doctors in the myeloma group at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto are the specialists seen most often by myeloma patients in the Toronto area. Dr. Donna Reece is head of the group and is very well known internationally. There are other physicians on the team, however, who focus on myeloma as well, including Dr. Suzanne Trudel and Dr. Rodger Tiedemann (among others).
I've also heard a couple people in the forum mention that they see a myeloma specialist at the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook. However, I'm not aware of any hematologist / oncologist there who really focuses on multiple myeloma.
Good luck, and please keep us posted on how your father is doing.

Re: Multiple myeloma specialists - Greater Toronto Area
I go to the myeloma clinic at Princess Margaret Hospital. Have seen a few doctors there. Mostly good experiences. I was not impressed with one doctor I saw, but they were just filling in one day. The wait can be long at times on your clinic day. I work close to there, so I do bloodwork in advance and then don't have to wait as long.
