Re: Multiple myeloma specialist in Dallas area?
Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, Alex. You've come to a good place, however, for advice and support.
We're not aware off hand of any myeloma specialists in the Dallas area. Our list of myeloma treatment centers, which you can view here (you'll be taken directly to the entries for Texas),
https://myelomabeacon.org/treatment-centers/#Texas
list Baylor's Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center at Dallas, but to be honest we're not familiar with any of the myeloma specialists they list.
UT Southwestern Medical Center has one specialist on staff, Dr. Larry Anderson, who focuses on plasma cell disorders such as multiple myeloma.
Texas Oncology has a number of offices in the Dallas area, if we're not mistaken, and they may have some hem/oncs who focus on myeloma. But, again, we can't say for certain (although perhaps someone else here can say).
There are a large number of myeloma specialists, however, at MD Anderson in Houston. If you're willing to travel to Houston for a consult and recommendation for treatment, then there probably would not be many here who would argue with that choice. Also, your local hem/onc could work together with a specialist at MD Anderson, with the specialist making key decisions (together with you), but your treatment being carried out in Dallas with your local hem/onc.
One of the Beacon's Medical Advisors -- myeloma specialists who help answer questions here in the forum -- is Dr. Jatin Shah from MD Anderson. This link will take you to postings he has made here in the forum.
Let us know if we can be of any further help, and please keep us posted on how you're doing.

Re: Multiple myeloma specialist in Dallas area?
Dr Larry Anderson at UT Southwest Medical Center has been marshaling me through this disease since my diagnosis a year ago. I couldn't be more satisfied. I encourage you to check out his team. Best of luck to you.
