What should someone expect who has both multiple myeloma and myelodysplastic syndromes. What sort of challenges are there, and what is the treatment?
Thank you.

Re: Multiple myeloma & myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS)
Kathy,
I was diagnosed in October 2010 and in the past few months have had myelodysplastic syndromes discussed and now confirmed.
My bone marrow was so damaged by too many chemo treatments that my doctors decided to search for an unrelated donor. They located one match, but then was advised that the donor was no longer available. My only sibling has such a bad heart and is on oxygen 24 hours a day, so I never considered asking him to be tested.
