Multiple myeloma - Munira introduction

by Munira Premji on Thu Jan 17, 2013 2:21 pm

Hello! My name is Munira Premji and I live in Toronto, Canada. I am 52 years old and was diagnosed with large B cell lymphoma (stage 4) and multiple myeloma (stage 3) in February 2012. My lymphoma is now in remission after chemo treatments. I am currently undergoing treatment for myeloma with weekly chemo (CyBor-D) and will be scheduled for a stem cell transplant in the next few weeks.

I stumbled upon your site yesterday and am so thrilled with the information I have received about Myeloma. I particularly appreciate the different perspectives on your site - - from doctors, patients, researchers and caregivers - - and finally feel part of the myeloma community!

Many thanks, Munira

Hi I am also in Toronto Canada and am a 3year survivor of multiple myeloma. I transfered my care to Princess Margaret Hospital for the myeloma clinic. I have had good treatment there, but had a bad experience with one of the doctors. (I don't want to name names online though). One cancer is hard enough, can't imagine dealing with a double cancer diagnosis!
