Multiple myeloma and muscle cramps

A little over three years ago, I was diagnosed with smoldering multiple myeloma. During the same period of time, I started experiencing muscle cramps, which keep worsening. Only recently I've realized they are not separate, local events, but a general symptom.

I was very interested in Dr. Kapoor mentioning muscle cramps in the forum thread,

and would like to know more about the connection between the myeloma and the muscles. I tried to search in Pubmed, but found nothing.
