After 5 months of CyBorD [cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan), Velcade, and dexamethasone], my oncologist is putting me on just Cytoxan and Dex for one more month.
I didn't think to question at the time, but what is the logic behind this?

Re: One month of CyD after CyBorD - why?
In the absence of any side effects, I am not quite sure.
I routinely discontinue the Cytoxan after 6 months and move to Velcade and dex alone due to potential effects of long term Cytoxan use on the healthy bone marrow cells (although this is generally not a problem unless the Cytoxan is used for much longer periods of time).
