Mom, diagnosed in July 2018 at age 55.
My mother initially was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 2006. This year from March she was having constant pain in back. Her hemoglobin fell to 4.5 in June, and she had gone through 5 units of blood transfusion. Physician diagnosed it as bone marrow suppression due to methotrexate she was taking since 2006 (this was disputed when we consulted another doctor for second opinion). In July, again she suffered from nose bleeding, which resulted in low hemoglobin and platelets. This time it was diagnosed as multiple myeloma on 11 July. Kappa-lambda ratio is 157. M-band 4.49 seen in beta-2. In PET CT scan and MRI, confirmed that her D6 vertebra is collapsed, this was causing back pain.

Hello Kaliash, and welcome to the forum.
I am sorry that your mother went through so much suffering before being diagnosed with myeloma (i.e., anemia and bone fractures). I hope that she is getting good treatment now and that the symptoms are lessening too. Please keep us posted on her progress!
