Thanks for all the comments! I wanted to update about the MRD testing. The results are actually over 6 weeks away ( naive of me to have thought they'd be done in a week!).
It turns out that UCSF needs to send for the slides from my husband's original biopsy in March 2013. They will use the " marker/ DNA" from his original cancer cells to test in his bmb sample that they took on the 13th. I can't remember exactly how many cells Dr. Wolf said they could look at, but he said it was more sensitive then flow. He also correlated the number of cancer cells found to chance of relapse based on a retrospective study in Spain. MRD negative (i.e. no cancer cells found) of course carried the lowest risk of relapse.
So in 6 weeks, I am praying for MRD negative!!!
