MGUS and Lamba FLCs increase

by J8888 on Mon Dec 02, 2013 11:41 pm

Greetings all,

I am a 51 yo male who was diagnosed with MGUS about four years ago. Since July my Lambda FLCs have risen from 80 to 134. My Kappa has moved inversely so the ratio is still about 0.01.

Here is a PDF spreadsheet showing my labs over time:

Obviously I have much to be thankful for but trying to do what I can to reduce or prepare for progression. How much of a concern is this in terms of disease progression and kidney hazard?

What is the current thinking on Curcumin as an option to try to lower these numbers?

Also wondering if I should be on a "kidney disease diet" to reduce risk to kidneys.

I avoid all NSAIDS and dehydration.

Any perspectives greatly appreciated. Thank you. -John
