Happy to have found this forum. This is my first post.
I was diagnosed with MGUS in 2001, then diagnosed with hypogammaglobulinemia and smoldering myeloma in November 2016. I started monthly IVIG in January 2017. Had a port inserted March 2017. Started Zometa April 2017, continue to present.
Kappa light chain is increasing, uptick on B2m. Watch and wait. Am seen at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The IVIG helps tremendously with keeping infections at bay. Not all, but I do feel very good for 2 1/2 to 3 weeks a month. Still have low energy at times where my body feels completely drained. For the most part, though, I'm doing well.

Hi NightJean11:
As with you, I am being treated at UAMS. I was diagnosed with MGUS last August, moved to smoldering last month. After my second bone marrow my plasma cell almost doubled to 15%. That with other results led me to consult with my local oncologist in Conway. She agreed with my thoughts, as did a doctor at UAMS, who told me I am smoldering.

Hopes that you stay smoldering myeloma forever, penbed. The unknown is the hardest part for me.
