Re: Medical research not always what it should be

Hi JPC,
Good questions about the researcher at the heart of the fraudulent research described in the Washington Post article. Your question spurred me to do some Google Research.

The doctor's name is Anil Potti. He was forced to resign (or was fired) from his position at Duke University and received multiple reprimands from the North Carolina Medical Board (see as an example: http://df7s0hkt8o8r9.cloudfront.net/media/english/pdf/sanctions/HGPY2F75467D9B9A4375911222011.pdf).

He (and Duke) are the defendants in multiple malpractice lawsuits related to the research. At least some of the lawsuits have been settled. (http://retractionwatch.com/2015/05/01/malpractice-case-against-duke-anil-potti-settled/)

According to Healthgrades, he is practicing medicine as an oncologist in Grand Forks, North Dakota. (http://www.healthgrades.com/physician/dr-anil-potti-xn3jr)
