Elevated LDH after RVD induction & stem cell transplant

by RebeccaB on Mon Feb 01, 2016 12:29 pm

I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in January of 2015. Over the last year, I did 4 cycles of Revlimid, Velcade, and dexamethasone (RVD) and had melphalan and a stem cell transplant in August of 2015. I am in partial response and am being tested to determine the best course of treatment from here.

Latest tests show an elevated lactate dehydrogenase (LDH).

Can anyone explain what that means?

I also am a runner and I am training for a half marathon. I ran 7 miles 3 days before the test. I read that might affect the results, however I also read that effects from running disappear after 72 hours.

Thanks for any help.
