After 7 months of RVD (Revlimid, Velcade, dexamethasone) induction therapy and a failed transplant, I am currently being treated with Kyprolis. My recent FISH profile does not indicate high risk and looks the same as it did 6 months ago.
I am considering getting a second opinion at MD Anderson with regard to the best course of therapy going forward. I would like to hear from anyone with regard to their experience at MD Anderson, and the doctors they might recommend.

Re: MD Anderson second opinion
Good afternoon,
My husband is currently being treated at MD Anderson. While no one is happy to be in treatment for myeloma, we're very satisfied with the decision we made to go to MD Anderson. His physician is Dr. Jatin Shah, and in fact, he will be seeing him tomorrow to wrap up his 4th cycle of RVD, plus panobinostat (clinical trial).
They leave no stone unturned to determine the best course of action - test, test, test. The results have been very good so far. He will start the stem cell process next month, and depending on the results of this last cycle of therapy, he may be participating in another clinical trial with T-cell immunization (not very clear on that one as we're not sure yet that he will qualify). If his response is too good, he won't qualify, but that's not a bad problem to have.
We live roughly 4 hours from Houston, so it hasn't been especially convenient (Dallas would have been much closer for us), but we've never regretted going to MD Anderson instead.
Hope some of my rambling helps.
Debra
