Maintenance therapy alternatives

I know that Revlimid is a common myeloma maintenance therapy.

However, what if you are unable to take Revlimid for one reason or another. What maintenance drug do they usually put people on?

I had none and did fine for 3 1/2 years following my SCT. There are so many variations in multiple myeloma that I think it's hard to answer what is best.

People are also doing Velcade as maintenance.

As you'll see, the most popular regimens among those currently on a maintenance regimen were, in order:

Revlimid
Revlimid + dex
Velcade + dex
Revlimid + Velcade + dex

Just as a tip, to find a weekly poll that might have information you're searching for, do a search from the forum search box that is structured something like "weekly poll [topic]", for example, "weekly poll maintenance" or "weekly poll Revlimid".

When you're using the basic forum search capability (not the advanced search functionality), it works best just to type a single keyword or maybe two keywords. Searches on phrases like "how to treat multiple myeloma" or "what is the best imaging for myeloma" will not provide very useful results because, unfortunately, the search functionality is not as smart as, say, Google or Bing.
