M-spike units - how to convert between g/L and g/dL?

by ahughes on Tue Jul 21, 2015 8:47 am

My M-spike is 0.40 g/dL. I see other people say their M-spike is 30 g/l. What would mine be if it was read in g/l?

A dl is a decilitre, and 10 dl make a litre, so 0.4 g/dl are 4 g/l.

Hello AHughes,

In case you'd like a little more information on this topic, beyond what Nancy provided, you might find this forum discussion from last year helpful:

"Conversion, mg/l to g/l to g/dL?" (started Dec 2, 2014)

Basically, a deciliter (dL) is one tenth of a liter. So 100 grams / liter (g/l) is the same as 10 grams per deciliter (g/dL).

Hope all of this clarifies things a bit. Thanks for your question.
