How did your M-spike change during treatment?

by AnnaF on Wed Mar 04, 2015 10:20 pm

Hello!

My father began Velcade + dex + melphalan for his myeloma treatment several months ago. His M-spike has been gradually decreasing, from a 1.4 to a 1.2 g/dL (14 to 12 g/L), though his last test indicated he rose from a 1.2 to a 1.3 over the past 3 weeks. He is concerned that this indicates the treatment is not working.

What has your experience been with your M-spike, and how has it changed throughout treatment? Are such fluctuations indicative of the treatment failing?

Thank you all for any input! It really helps to hear others' experiences.

Anna
