As I've stated before, I seem to get all the side effects from chemo, and the oncologist is mostly interested in the myeloma only. I've also have come to the conclusion I will deal with the side effects because the Revlimid brings my panel down to no myeloma at all.
I've always had the excessive sweating and low energy. I made the mistake of revealing I get short of breath, which resulted in me getting a catherization, which was clean.
The doc use to tell us it was hot out because of my sweating. Every visit I told him of the sweating. Finally he checked my testosterone, and it was at the very lowest part of the scale.
He proceeded to send me to an endocrinologist in my hometown. Of course, he had to get his own tests, which I wasn't even on the lower end of his scale. He then sent me to give more blood and start a 24-hour urine test.
They all came in the normal range. He then sent me to the hospital for a atch or something like, an IV and injection for an hour or so, also normal. Then to the MRI with contrast, another IV to check pituitary and brain. That was Tuesday, no results yet. Does anyone else get tired of getting stuck?
My oncologist said he thinks he's being overly cautious, especially with the MRI, but time will tell.
Back to the subject: All the docs I'll see a significant change to the better when I get the supplement. So get your testosterone checked if you are a sweater, have shortness of breath, or are fatigued easily.
