Low platelet count while on Revlimid maintenance

by Kaew on Thu Aug 14, 2014 4:45 pm

I had my autologous stem cell transplant (ASCT) on November 2012 and had a complete remission.

I'm on Revlimid as a maintenance for 18 months and I had up and down of low white count and low platelets. But the last 6 weeks my platelets keep coming down every week, today is at 41,and I stopped taking Revlimid for 5 weeks now. Usually when I stopped , my platelets went up, but not this time.

I just wonder if I'm coming down with another illness.

Did anyone have the same problem?

Repeat evaluation of bone marrow is important in your case to evaluate for other causes of the low platelets other than just bone marrow suppression from the Revlimid. Please bring this up with your treating physician.
