Hi all,
I could possibly be on the complete wrong page here, but it popped up when I was googling about IgM levels!
The story goes,
My 18-month old son has a condition called tracheomalacia with a heart mummer.
He has a lot of tests run on him, which include his levels of IgM, IgG, IgA, and white cell count. Three times now the tests have come back low IgM, normal IgG and IgA, but high white cell count!
I have been doing a lot of googling not finding anything much apart from this page!
So I need your advice really of whether I should be worried and ask them to do something or just let them keep retesting every now and then to see how he is doing?
Many thanks
Ali

Re: A mum looking for advice - low IgM, high WBC
Hi Ali,
First off, I'm not a doc, so please check with yours.
There could be infection associated with the tracheomalacia, which would cause one's white blood cell level to pop up. A low IgM level by itself may not be a cause for any concern. See:

Re-testing may indeed be the right thing to do...but again, check with your doc.

Ok thank you. I will look into it more with the docs.
