Now the back story with a happy ending.
Prior to being diagnosed, my wife had high blood pressure. The BP was high for two years. Our family doctor told her to go home and drink a glass of wine and that would lower the BP. He did not subscribe any meds. The way it was discovered was through a doctor that we saw when our family doctor was busy and could not schedule us in November 2010. My wife went and saw him for a sever cold and he was concerned about the BP. He put her on some meds and about two months later she had sever headaches. We went back to the same doctor and he did a urine test and it showed that she had abnormal protein cells in the urine. This doctor then sent us to a nephrologist. After more blood work and a kidney biopsy, it was discovered that she had membranoproliferative glomerulonephritides (MPGN). Say that three times fast.
I just want to say that I have been lurking around the forums for over a year and all the threads and responses have been very helpful. I figured that it is better late than never to finally introduce us.
Sorry for the long post.
