Does anyone know if myeloma has been linked to agent orange exposure?

Hi Joe,

The U.S. Veterans Administration (VA) recognizes multiple myeloma as associated with exposure to Agent Orange and other herbicides used during military service.

If you are a veteran who was exposed to Agent Orange, you may be eligible for health care and disability benefits.

YES, Joe- pursue this, honey!

My husband is currently classified as 100% Disabled by the VA. He'll be up for a "review" very soon.

The VA has been sending him a check for the past 18 months.... as well as paying for his Thalidomide (Thalomid) which was running into SERIOUS money.

You might was to find a patient advocate in your area. We have a wonderful gal locally, who is affiliated with the VFW. She does all of the paperwork, and has been a WONDERFUL help.

i am a vietnam vet, diagnosed july 08, sct at mayo under the direction of dr. martha lacy. i had all and i mean all my medical reports from my mgus days up to the latest medical info. when it was sent in to the va (with the help of a very helpful locall veteran's service office). when examided by the va doc, he said, "there is nol doubt about this one". i began to receive va disability payments, including back payments. but the medical treatment was paid for by the private insurance. the va will help you, if you help yourself. if they want a certain medical record/labresults, give it to them. one other suggestion is to keep a copy of all you send them. i had a great advocate at the va center, he worked for the amvets. every veteran organization has such a person, often the dav is a good choice also.


i am fortunate that my experience with the va has been good to date. don't give up. don't let some minor bureaucrat give you grief. don't forget there is congress and senate help from those that represent you in washington, dc.
