Is light chain escape treated with the same treatments as "regular" multiple myeloma?
My kappa free light chain level is rising, but my IgA is still stable and I have no monoclonal band seen on the SPEP. I see my doctor on Tuesday. Just trying to prepare.

Re: How is light chain escape treated?
Jewell,
As far as I know, light chain escape is not treated any differently than standard relapse, just as there is no difference in how newly diagnosed patients are treated based on whether or not they have light chain multiple myeloma (i.e., myeloma where there is no M-spike, just an elevated kappa or lambda light chain level accompanied by a non-normal kappa-lambda ratio).
If others here in the forum have experience indicating anything different than what I just wrote, please let us know.
