Cathy - That is very good information to know. 50 mcg levothyroxine (Synthroid) is not a high dose and it makes sense considering the circumstances. It sounds like you have done a lot of very thorough investigation and work along with your doctors in your personal health plan. Good for you!
I never got the impression that you implied lower levothyroxine was a therapeutic step in your health care. I do appreciate your note of caution about decreasing or discontinuing. There are many medications that need to be titrated down very carefully. Synthroid / levothyroxine is one of them.

Re: Light chain deposition disease (LCDD) info?
Thanks, Toni.
I really appreciate hearing people's different opinions about the levothyroxine. I was surprised by the discussion on thyroid meds. Especially surprised that so many of us had started thyroid meds just before or about the same time that we developed multiple myeloma.
Maybe I should stay with my current dosage until I talk to my oncologist in about 10 days. My nephrologist is too nice - he would never tell me I am being stupid. My oncologist will tell me if my idea to cut it in half is stupid.
