Thank you for answering. My symptoms include fatigue, back pain, headaches, and neuropathy.
The UPEP didn't show an M-Spike either. Like I said, I didn't have a serum immunofixation, 24 hr immunixiation, beta 2 microglobulin, or the immunoglobulin tests done.
The doctors who ordered the UPEP, SPEP, and Freelite test don't want to do any further testing. They said because those tests are normal, I don't have myleoma.
But, it could be possible that the immunofixation would show something?
Thank you again.

Re: Light Chain and CRP Questions
I feel stupid asking these questions.
Like I said, my UPEP, Freelite, and SPEP were normal. The doctors said I do not have Myleoma. However, It is my understanding that the Immunofixation can still be positive without an M-Spike.
If any of these are positive (immunofixation, beta 2 microglobulin, or the immunoglobulin tests), what would that indicate? Would someone need treatment?
Thank you.

I feel stupid asking these questions. But, I haven't had a chance to ask my primary care doctor.
Like I said, my UPEP, Freelite, and SPEP were normal. Based on those, the doctors said I do not have Myleoma.
It is my understanding that the Immunofixation can still be positive without an M-Spike. Is this correct? Would that mean someone would have Myleoma?

Re: Light Chain and CRP Questions
If you truly want to rule out multiple myeloma, you would need to get a bone marrow biopsy. That is the definitive test. There is a condition called non-secretory multiple myeloma, where neither an M-spike or FLCs will show up in your blood or urine. You can read more about it here.

Re: Light Chain and CRP Questions
Thank you for answering. That doctor was 100% sure I don't have Myleoma. They didn't want to order any other tests. Maybe I can ask my primary care doctor.
I was worried something was overlooked. I am still having pain and neuropathy.
