My dad is a prostrate cancer patient and had a collapsed L5. He went to vertebroplasty yesterday and he back pain has gone down. He was supported to be injected with 7mm cement, but was injected with just 4mm as it started to leak. The doctors stopped immediately.
Now after coming out of surgery, he has pain and numbness in his right leg. Do you know what is going on? Also his right foot is slightly swollen. Please help!

Re: Leg pain, numbness, and swelling after vertebroplasty
I hope that he is doing better. I haven't had the procedure done yet for myself, but I have read that leaking is one of the risks...as well as what they call nerve root pain. Hopefully your father's symptoms will subside...but certainly worth calling your father's care team as soon as you can.
