My elderly relative has a lambda light-chain multiple myeloma, and the doctor has been measuring their progress using their serum free light-chain levels.
Back in October their lambda light chain levels were near 900 and their ratio was around 0.02, and now the levels are around 30 and their ratio is just shy of 0.26.
Could this be a sign that they are almost in remission, and perhaps the treatments won't have to continue for much longer?
Thanks for any information.

Re: Lambda light chains near normal from 900 high
Yes, this is a sign of a very good response. Regarding the duration of therapy, that is debatable but our practice pattern is to continue on threapy (maintenance) as long as the drug is tolerated and effective particularly in non-transplant eligible patients.
