Hi my name is Paul I did a bmb on January 2012 and it came back possitive for multiple myeloma , I did chemo for about 3 months and had a stem cell transplant in October 2012
I am currently over a 100 days post transplant , I did my 100 days lab on Friday February 1st
I need help with my result my Dr. didnot say to much she want me to repeat the labs in a week .
Here is some of my labs result
Kappa, Free Light Chain 420 H (3.30-19.40)
Lambda, Free Light Chain 100 H (5.71-26.30)
Kappa/Lambda Ration 4.20 H (.26-1.65)
Wbc 2.5k
Rbc 2.83m
Plt 40k L
Lymph 49 H
Neut 40.5 L
I had a cold for about a week and still have a cough would this cause my result to be like this.
any help would be appreciated

Your readings indicate anemia and very low a and m immunoglobulins. You also have a low WBC. These readings may be consistent with recovery from the SCT. The FLC ratio is high but so are both the Kappa and Lambda readings. I would Waite and see what the next test reveals and have a discussion with your oncologist.

I agree. Your blood counts are still low, suggesting something may be suppressing your blood cells from recovering from the transplant, like a virus or other infectious agent. This could also explain why both your kappa and lambda light chains are high, since these can go up non-specifically when there is an infeciton. I would repeat the labs once your cold is completely cleared and then discuss next steps with your oncologist. Good luck!
