Kyprolis

by zish1973 on Wed Nov 21, 2012 5:48 pm

Hello,

My father has multiple myeloma for 6.5 years. After about 1.5 years on Velcade the myelome has relapsed.
We live abroad (ISRAEL) and I would like to know if we can buy Kyprolis in the US and what is the price there.
If anyone knows of a way of buying and bringing it to Israel I'd be glad to know about the options

Thank you
Ziv

Ziv,
The Beacon posted an article titled "Questions And Answers About The FDA’s Approval Of Kyprolis" that indicates the cost is about $10,000US per 28 day cycle, making Krypolis the most expensive myeloma drug to date (search on Krypolis and it should bring up the article). The aritcle also provides info related to the availability of Krypolis.

Hi Ziv, I am currently in a clinical trial in the US utiizing carfilzomib and doing well. It is my understanding that carfilzomib/Kyprolis is, in fact, available in Israel through clinical trials. You can also call Onyx, the company which makes the drug, and ask specifically what facilities in Israel are utilizing the drug. Good Luck! Terry L. from NJ
