Hi Tracy,

I am so sorry to hear about this development. But I appreciate you sharing the situation with the folks on this forum. Is your damage reversible?

Hi Melanie,

How often does your husband get his cardiopulmonary and renal functions checked?

Multibilly,

He gets cardiac tested at the end of every cycle, and his renal function checked with each infusion. They do a comprehensive metabolic panel before they start his infusion every time. His renal function has stayed normal throughout since he is primarily LCDD.

Thanks Melanie,

Seems like folks should be routinely asking for this frequency of cardiac testing while on this new drug. I wonder how many patients get their heart monitored this often while on Kyprolis or if there is any norm for cardiac testing while on Kyprolis?

I think testing of the heart should be done while on any of the drugs. My daughter had Velcade as induction therapy and had to have her transplant postponed because they discovered she had an irregular heartbeat, which she did not have before starting Velcade.
