My mother has only taken 4 infusions of Krypolis. They stopped the treatment yesterday on day 15 because of low platelets (40) and blood (9.1). She was fatigued for four days before but got worse last night. Today she was unable to stay awake for more then 10 minutes and could not tell me what time of day it was.
I am really worried. The fatigue, along with weakness and low counts, are the only side effects she has. My question is when is it too much and what can be done at this point? She only weighs 114 pounds and I am sure without eating much she will drop 3-5 pounds overnight.
Thanks for any comments or experiences you share.

Re: Krypolis extreme fatigue - when is it too much?
I have run into this problem. While it is not approved for once weekly dosing, that is what I have done for patients with extreme fatigue.

Re: Krypolis extreme fatigue - when is it too much?
Thank you Dr. Valent. When I spoke with her oncologist this morning about continuing treatment this was the first thing he said. It was comforting to know this was an option.
However, my mother is now in the hospital and has been since yesterday. She was despondent and very, very weak. Her last CBC was on Tuesday and it showed Hgb of 9.7. Yesterday when I brought her to ER it was 7.4. The have given her 3 unitsl of blood in the past 18 hours. But now they suspect she has pneumonia. She seems to get better and then her fever spikes (up to 104 this afternoon) and she has bone-chattering chills. She is on antibiotics. It is 10 pm so we just have to 'wait and see' how she is in the morning.
