My type of myeloma is IgG Lambda. My doctor said it didn't realy matter in terms of treatment, but that IgG Kappa was more common.
My question is does the subtype of light chain create any different symptoms or outcome? Should lambda's be more vigilant for certain symptoms, and kappa's for other ones?

Re: Kappa or lambda myeloma - what's the difference?
I think the biggest difference is in Bence Jones where the Lambda light chains can't be filtered through the kidneys. It was explained to me as clogging them up. I spent 5 months on dialysis, but eventually the remission allowed my kidneys to clear.
