Kappa light and dark chain

by Jobmustang on Tue Dec 09, 2014 2:33 pm

Hi,

I have as they (Yale, Mayo Clinic, Sloan Kettering, Smilow Cancer Center) told me kappa light and dark chain and I am being treated at Dana Farber (under Yale direction). It is only at this time in my lungs. I have had a lung biopsy and two open lung surgeries, bone and marrow also. Pin cushion I consider myself. :) I have been through chemo 3 times, 3 months each.

My questions are: Is there no cure? Also, what are the chances of spreading to heart, kidneys? If not, from what I read can it be managed? Is it worth it to keep going to chemo and the associated drugs?

Sorry to whine about this but I have 19 nodules after two were removed. I did gain weight back during and after treatment. It does not show up anywhere else, blood, urine in me only nodules that were removed. Anyone have something like this? And is treatment something I have to do until the day comes? Also any connection in things that any of us with this issue have been exposed to?

Thanks
Steve

Hey Steve, would love to help, but cannot really understand your situation. There is no such think as 'dark chain'. What is your diagnosis? Light chain deposition disease? Amyloidosis? Certainly doesn't sound like myeloma. Please provide more information so I can offer some help.

Hi, the paper reads: Light chain deposition disease, Waldenstrom's disease, cancer. From Yale.

The main report talks about light and dark? I could be reading it wrong.

Thanks,
Steve

Hi again.

I have lambda also; anyway I have both. Any cure? Or is this just a maintenance thing?
