Re: Kappa & lambda FLCs significantly elevated, but ratio ok
Both kappa free light chains and lambda free light chains have risen, yet kappa / lambda free light chains ratio is normal. Does this mean I am relapsing? I have been in CR since August 2015.

Re: Kappa & lambda FLCs significantly elevated, but ratio ok
A couple of questions.
First, when you were first diagnosed, were both chains high or was only one? It's rare, but there have been instances of myeloma consisting of polyclonal immunoglobulins.
Second, has this result happened more than once or is it a one off You really need a series of tests to tell if a trend has developed. A single test can have anomalies.
Finally, have you had an increase in your creatinine levels going out of range. Sometimes when both chains rise but the ratio stays the same it points to renal impairment. However, I again want to emphasize needing a series of tests to point to a trend.
