Kaiser Permanente coverage of Pomalyst?

by Steven Roberts on Thu Sep 10, 2015 8:24 pm

Does any one know if Kaiser will prescribe Pomalyst for multiple myeloma treatment?

This is a "wonder" drug for my wife's multiple myeloma, but we are forced to change insurance now to a Medicare coverage, so I need to find out if Kaiser will prescribe this VERY expensive drug and how much the copay would be.

Thanks,
Worried Steve

Steven,

You can usually find a written policy for most FDA approved drugs for any given health insurance provider. A quick google on "Kaiser pomalyst" yields:

http://providers.kaiserpermanente.org/info_assets/cpp_ga/pdfs/ga_QRMguidelines_june2014.pdf

Make sure to read all the different sections in the document pertaining to Pomalyst.
