Re: IVIG infusions - what to expect?

by Ron Harvot on Mon Jul 17, 2017 12:37 pm

George,

I have had IVIG infusions once a month since July 2012. I have not experienced any noticeable side effects. In fact, I generally do a 30 mile bike ride in the late afternoon the same day as the infusion. I have not noticed any impact on my performance during the ride nor side effects, such as cramping, afterward. I do not take any Tylenol or other medication prior to or during the infusions. The only thing I will say is that the infusion takes about 2 1/2 hours. They start the rate slow and then step it up a couple of times over the course of the infusion.
