Hello all,
I have a two and a half year history of strange neuro symptoms and body pain in different parts of my body. Two weeks ago lab tests were:
ACE - Angiotensin coversion enzyme - 80
Calcium -10.5 was 10.8 and has been in that range for years
Triglycerides - 406 - normally 180.
SPEP - normal
Alkaphosphate - 126
Serum Ig's - Normal
Other Blood work - normal
I do a 24-hour urine this week. A chest x-ray for sarcoidosis was normal.
Has anyone started with muscle twitching and burning and muscle/bone pain and then progressed to multiple myeloma indicating a paraneoplastic syndrome? I am afraid I have multiple myeloma and am wondering what other tests I should have.
Thank you very much to anyone who responds.

Re: Is this multiple myeloma?
Good morning:
A normal SPEP indicates that multiple myeloma is not the issue. It is rare to have it with a normal SPEP. It would be called non-secretory. But again its quite rare, particularly for newly diagnosed multiple myeloma.
Good luck.

Re: Is this multiple myeloma?
HI,
I would have my PTH checked. I had very similar symptoms and it turned out to be parathyroid disease (hyperparathyroidism).
Best of Luck
