Introduction
About 3 weeks agoI saw my family doctor about shoulder pain. He said it was a torn rotator cuff and had me see an orthopedic specialist. The specialist noticed marks on the X-rays and scheduled an MRI. MRI showed several lesions, I saw the oncologist the next day. Blood tests and biopsies were positive for multiple myeloma stage 3. Started Revlimid, velcaid, dex and will be going for a stem cell transplant in may.

Re: Introduction
Hi Kevinc. It sounds like you and I are on similar protocols and similar schedules (RVD now and ASCT around May). After two 3-week cycles of RVD my back and shoulder pain are much improved. I hope it will be that way for you too. Best of luck to you!

Re: Introduction
Thanks Mike
Best of luck to you as we'll. maybe we can compare notes as we go though the sct. I just started my third cycle. The labs last week showed both my protein level and igg have both come back down to within the normal range. When I first started I was unable to use my left arm due to the pain in my arm and shoulder. Today the pain is almost non existent. I asked the doctor if the sct would still be needed with everything looking so good to this point. He said its a given and I still need to have it. Sounds like we're both progressing well from the treatment. Lets pray that it continues.
