Introduction

by sandbass on Wed Jul 25, 2012 6:15 pm

Hello everyone,

My name is Al. 38 years old. I'm from the So Cal area. Dx'd in fall of 2007, multiple myeloma stage IIIa. Had a Auto SCT in 2008 that didn't do much for me. Got on Revlimid and a few different combos with Velcade and Dex. It was hell in the beginning with all the pain from the fractured vertebrae in my back. Little by little I have been working hard to build up my body despite losing a few inches of height. Not that I was buff or anything but I lost a lot of muscle during and after SCT. No more wheelchair or walkers or canes. Still on the hydrocodone though. Have not had chemo since early last year. Kappa free light chain has been rising so I might have to get back on soon. Thanks.

HI Al,
It sounds like you've been through a lot already and you're on the younger end of multiple myeloma. Hats off to you and your determination! Good luck to you and keep us all posted.
