Greetings to my new social organization,
My name is Devin Jackson and I reside in Chicago, Illinois. I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in Jan 2010 after a physical for life insurance. I was informed that there was an issue with my kidneys, so I saw the renal physician at the VA hospital in Chicago. After a battery of tests, I was informed that I had multiple myeloma.
Needless to say I was in total shock. I had survived 23 years in the military, combat in Iraq and now I had contracted a disease I had never heard of before. It has been a trying 18 months dealing with my prognosis and the treatment for multiple myeloma.
I am scheduled for SCT starting Aug 8th in Nashville at the VA there. If anyone has had the procedure done in the facility there, I welcome any advice or information that you have.
Good luck to everyone as you and your families deal with this debilitating illness.
Best wishes,
Devin Jackson - future cancer survivor

Re: Introducing Devin Jackson yeah!!!
Try to keep your chipper attitude. Ask lots and lots of questions. And make sure you are getting the fastest, most cutting edge on everything. Don't let the nurses, doctors push you off, you push forward always. It is your life, they may be playing with it but it is your life and you want to see results and know everything that is going on.
