Hello,
My mom is on 5mg of Revlimid and has had a 0 m-spike for 2 years and 2 months. Just last night she got a call that her m-spike was 0.025. What does this mean and how can I help understand more? She's very upset and I'm doing my best living far away to ease her fears.
Thank you.

Re: Increase in M-spike of 0.025
Hello Shaylyn,
At the worst, this is a "chemical relapse". The number is up a little from zero but it is not a major change. There is no "CRAB" etc. Your mom feels fine.
The thing to do is see how it behaves over the next few months. If it steadily climbs then the Revlimid may need to be increased. If it climbs to 1.0 or higher then it would be time to consider re-treatment with a different drug or drug(s).
On the other hand I would not be surprised if this tiny "spike" disappeared next month without changing a thing.
I totally understand the concern. This is a sometimes terrible disease but for now this is a faint signal that the disease might barely be starting to return or that it has slightly increased.
