Does a rise in immunoglobulin levels indicate relapse?

by blair77 on Tue Mar 18, 2014 12:06 pm

Does a rise in the immunoglobulin levels indicate relapse, or do the levels naturally fluctuate?

My husbands IgA levels rose by 40 points between day 60 and day 90 post transplant. They are still within normal range.

Thanks for any information!

Possible immune reconstitution?

40 points is a small change. This could very well be immune reconstitution. The SPEP will give you the M spike information, which should allow you to distinguish between the 2 possibilities.

Take care!

Thanks Dr. Voorhees. The SPEP with both reading is M spike not detected.
