Immunoglobulin free light chain question

by bad blood on Fri Dec 20, 2013 12:07 pm

I just had my yearly mgus labs (IgG lambda). I asked what the meaning my low free kappa light chain(0.17) and my low ratio(0.11) on the immunoglobulin free light chain test (lambda 1.60). I was told... The low numbers reflect the very very small IgG lambda protein that you have in the blood, I started out with normal levels with my mgus..now low. Does that mean my mgus is going away?

Hello,

What was your original number for the lambda chain?

1.6 is right smack in the middle of normal range, which is 0.6-2.6 mg/dL

Below is a chapter out of wikilite, which is a good resource for understanding Serum FLC. See chapter 26 and the table in 26.3 it may help you with your questions.
