Anonymous,

My understanding is there is no difference. See this thread:

"What is the significance of IgG kappa vs. IgG lambda?", Beacon forum discussion started Jan 30, 2012.

As an aside, you might want to consider registering (anonymously) and logging in so that folks can see your earlier posts and more easily put answers into the right context.

Hi Anonymous,

Multibilly has pointed you to a good discussion. Another one you may want to check is this one,

"Clinical significance of kappa or lambda FLCs?," Beacon forum discussion started Aug 8, 2014.

where Dr. Landau mentions that the one potential difference between having lambda or kappa myeloma is that, with lambda myeloma, there is a greater chance of the light chains forming amyloid deposits, which can reduce the function of the organs where the deposits occur.

Nice that you flagged that Cheryl. You've got a really good memory.

Wish I could claim some superhuman memory capabilities, Multibilly. However, I just remembered Dr. Landau's posting because it drew a lot of attention, and a simple search for discussions with the words "kappa" and "lambda" in their titles practically led me straight to the discussion with her posting.

How you're able to remember some of the previous discussions here in the forum is beyond me!
