Alex,
I know what you are going through is probably the worst thing that has ever happened to you, and it's only natural, when you feel as bad as you do, to feel the things you are feeling. The question is always, "Why? Why me? What did I ever do to deserve this?" It's easy to be angry and confused when you see how others are responding so well to treatment with very few side effects. Again, you ask, "Why?"
Still, you must need to connect with others who are facing this same 'monster' that has invaded your life - that's why you're here. Right? I would guess that you might be feeling like you are alone -no one understands and no one cares, but you are wrong. I forget how many people are registered members of this forum, but, I'm guessing that most of them would be happy to give you all the support they can through this forum, if you will let them.
I don't know what your story is, but, don't forget, each member of this forum with multiple myeloma has been down there in the valley too. Maybe some of their experiences so far haven't been quite as bad as yours, or maybe they've been worse. Whatever the case may be, remember this is probably the worst thing that has happened to them too, and they/we are scared and confused sometimes too.
If you need a friend, Alex, someone who understands, there are lots of 'someones' here on this forum.
God bless,
Mary

Re: I'm a lucky guy
Hi Rick,
I want you to know that I don't believe you have offended anyone. I'm happy for you, and I believe you are blessed from above, as am I. I'm so glad that you can still see the good things in your life, and I pray that the blessings continue to flow abundantly for you and your family.
I, too, have lambda light chain multiple myeloma. Mine is IgA. I was diagnosed in the spring of 2005, and I've been through two stem cell transplants. There have been a few low places along the way, but, considering all that's happened to me in the past nine years, I'm doing well -I am a lucky girl! Keep looking up, Rick, cause that's where the best things in life can be found.
God bless,
Mary

Re: I'm a lucky guy
No offence or pity wanted on my behalf, I,m just a curious passenger on the multiple myeloma train watching the various approaches, strange and diverse, taken by each sufferer. Those who look upward downward or inward don't really worry me too much, those who look to a deity or vegetable amuse me.
Feeling lucky is just another way of facing the multiple myeloma dilemma and I hadn't seen to many people look at it that way....support groups and hospital help included. Oh well, we move on to see what tomorrow brings.

Re: I'm a lucky guy
This was an interesting thread...thank you
Rick, I admire your ability to see the positives in the situations you have been faced with.
Alex, your post made me lol so much.
I don't know why ... maybe my affinity for black humour & sarcasm ... and of course maybe you were serious so I also admire your gumption for producing a very articulate & descriptive post whilst feeling so crappy!
Thanks again guys
