Hyperthermia for multiple myeloma - does it work?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with infrared saunas and do they work ?

They use light to generate heat. I ask this because we found a great clinic in Germany that does hyperthermia locally and whole body as well. Not quite the same as infrared sauna, much more advanced, but it worked for Ian. The light chains dropped quite a bit !!!

He has been there twice, and it now looks like he's in remission after the ASCT so we are thinking to go back for a top up to maintain this result as long as possible.

There was a member of the forum from Australia who tried hyperthermia treatments. He first posted about it in this discussion thread:

There are some links in the discussion thread to fact sheets and a journal article or two about hyperthermia as a potential cancer therapy.

It was pointed out earlier this year in the forum (see this posting) that, although Dave initially reported positive results from therapy, things appear not to have worked out so well in the longer run, and he has not been active in the forum since an update indicating that his disease had become more aggressive about a year and a half after his diagnosis. What exactly happened with Dave, and what role hyperthermia therapy played, is of course difficult to determine.
