Hello everyone,
I've been lurking and reading for a few months. My husband was diagnosed in December 2016 with multiple myeloma with kidney involvement, after high blood pressure at a checkup in October led to a number of tests (and a hospitalization, before we knew what was going on). He's 54 years old and was running half-marathons up until last year.
His treatment started out with Velcade, dexamethasone, and sodium bicarbonate. Revlimid and Zometa were recently added. He also has medications to treat the high blood pressure and fluid buildup.
We have regrouped a bit from the initial diagnosis, and are looking ahead to the stem cell transplant at some point. Thanks for being here.
